The PSO team is dedicated to the success of the customer and their deployment strategy and implementation. The PSO team ensures that VMware customers are successfully implementing Zimbra Collaboration Server (ZCS) to meet their business and technical goals. The VMware PSO team includes Implementation/Managed Services, Project/Engagement Management, Education Services, Partner Management and Technical Account Management (TAM) Services.

Why work with our group: As a VMware Consultant, you will provide customers and partners technical leadership in the installation, configuration, and implementation of VMware products and services. You will help to document best practices in developing and deploying VMware solutions, and maintain a knowledgebase for best practices by customers and partners. This group gives the consultant the opportunity to work in most of the top Fortune 500 companies in the world. Services include (but not limited to) large-scale Carrier/ISP Deployments and Migrations, Operational Readiness, Business Continuance, and Disaster Recovery.

Job Description The specific role of the Senior Consultant – Zimbra will be to work in the Professional Services Consulting team and take a lead role in ZCS deployment and migration assignments, with an element of pre-sales work to support Services Sales, Sales and pre-Sales teams in developing and winning opportunities


Responsibilities will include:



Lead technical client discussions on ZCS principles, process, strategy & design
Develop strong "subject matter expert" relationships with our customers as well as our Sales and Pre-sales teams.
Work with Service Business Managers to identify, qualify, and scope ZCS opportunities
Be the thought leader in the messaging and collaboration space for Americas
Identify, develop, and improve ZCS related service offerings for the consulting practice
Independently lead the successful technical delivery of billable ZCS assignments


The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:



B.S./B.A./M.S. degree or equivalent technical training
3+ years as a Technical Consultant in a consulting environment supporting sales and managing technical staff and implementations
2+ years experience in infrastructure deployments of complex distributed messaging systems environments, including failover techniques, recovery/rollback, and application partitioning
Real-world hands-on experience with scalable messaging platforms, datacenter configuration, security, and storage in enterprise and carrier/ISP environments.
Ability to articulate the value proposition; focus on selling business outcomes, not just technology solutions, solutions sales approach
Self motivated, energetic, dedicated, driven, tenacious, achiever, well presented, able to communicate effectively at all levels
Understanding of computing architectures
Strong presentation, executive client management and business development skills
A good practical understanding of Application & Web-based application development
Familiarity with systems management concepts, processes and standards; capacity/performance management and the fundamentals of ITIL
Understanding of modern IT production data center and Internet (ISP/ASP) hosting operations
Ability to travel between 50 percent of the time, including international.
Proficient in Spanish and English. Portuguese is a plus
